The Consorzio per la Tutela del Palio di Siena refers to everything which deals with the 17 Districts and Palio’s emblems, heraldry, colors and generally images. Being these marks registered by competent authorities, anyone who intends to realize any kind of object (even craftsmanship objects) presenting Districts’ colors or emblems, must present the 17 prototypes to the consorzio (or at least the complete graphic project) which will be analyzed by the Administration Council evaluating both the product type, which must not damage the Palio and the Districts decorum, and the emblems and colors conformity.
Once these aspects have been ascertained and the appropriate changes, if asked by the CTPS, have been made, you proceed to the signing of a contract which rules the commercialization. The agreement has an annual duration and it is not tacitly renewable, with modalities and charges agreed according to the materials used, the market type, the channels of distribution, the quantity of products, with a possible recourse to royalties.
The application for the grant of the mark must be submitted to the Consorzio per la Tutela del Palio di Siena.
